Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting two new community sports projects at the Croydon Sports Arena. I was there to find out about Axial Crocus summer programmes, which aim to increase activity, reduce isolation and improve wellbeing.

For many families, the holidays are a time to look forward to - but not for all families. New research shows that the mental health of children from less advantaged backgrounds may be at risk due to a lack of positive summer holiday experiences. On my visit, I saw first-hand the positive impact that this holiday programme is having on young people in Croydon.
