The StreetGames National Awards were created to recognise the very best and brightest coaches, volunteers and projects making up the wider StreetGames Network. Sadly, with the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus, this year's prize-giving event could no longer proceed as planned. StreetGames has therefore decided to announce this year's winners as part of a special 'virtual ceremony', to take place between the dates of Monday 11th and Friday 15th May 2020. The ceremony will be held across StreetGames' social media accounts, including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. In announcing the new format, StreetGames' Acting CEO Mark Lawrie stated: "While we may be physically distant, it is important that we remain connected during these difficult times, and continue to recognise the vital contribution of our incredible partners and nominees - all of whom, I am certain, will now be working tirelessly to support their communities in whatever way they can". The announcement process for this year's StreetGames Awards will proceed as follows: Two award categories will be posted each day for five consecutive days One category will be announced in the morning, with the second being unveiled in the afternoon Finalist videos will be unveiled in 15-minute increments, followed by the reveal of the overall category winner. This process will begin at 10.30am for the morning session (the winner will be announced at 11.15am), and once again at 2.30pm for the afternoon award (the winner will be announced at 3.15pm).
