Northampton Leisure Trust is celebrating this month after becoming the first organisation to be awarded StreetGames' new StreetMark Plus accreditation. This award is available to any organisation that successfully completes StreetGames' Doorstep Sport Module, as part of a 'Quest' assessment.

Quest is a Sport England-recommended Improvement tool and quality mark designed for leisure facilities, sports development teams and organisations that utilse sport and physical activity to deliver wider social change.

Harvey Morgan, Senior Sport & Health Development Officer at Northampton Leisure, commented:

"We selected the Doorstep Sport Quest module as part of our Quest assessment as we have a comprehensive doorstep sport project (Northampton Street Sports) that we manage and deliver as part of our community outreach programme. We are always looking for new ideas to improve and develop the project further, so having an experienced external assessor look at what we currently deliver, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, is an extremely valuable experience.

It is great to be the first organisation to achieve the StreetMark Plus award and something that we are really proud of. This will help us to further demonstrate the quality of service that we deliver to our partners, funders and our beneficiaries".

Northampton Leisure had further cause for celebration when they were awarded a rating of 'excellent' for their overall Quest Active Communities assessment.

As part of the ongoing collaboration between StreetGames and Quest, the Doorstep Sport module has been made available within all three areas of Quest accreditation (Active Communities, Sport for Development and Facility Management), with the StreetMark Plus award (or Doorstep Sport Centre for facilities) being granted to all organisations that perform to a high standard.

Paul Brivio, Head of Active Communities for Quest, commented:

"It is always great to see ground breaking work being recognised and endorsed in this way. This is a great example of a local leisure trust delivering a high quality service to young people by working with a national organisation like StreetGames to make the very best use of resources, knowledge and skills. I think this really is a model of best practice for others in our sector to emulate. Well done to all concerned".
