Doorstep Sport Advisors (DSAs) play an integral role in supporting StreetGames’ mission of ‘changing lives, changing communities, changing sport’. These individuals provide essential front-line connectivity, supporting locally trusted organisations (LTOs) and partners to maximise the impact of sport. This specific DSA role will focus on the StreetGames’ work funded through our Sport Wales national partnership to increase participation in sport & physical activity for 14-25 year olds in the most disadvantaged areas of South Central Wales – Cardiff, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend, The Vale of Glamorgan and Merthyr Tydfil.

StreetGames are looking for the suitable person with experience of working in sport, youth, or community development. Candidates should also have experience working with disadvantaged communities and the skills to be able to support organisations, bringing them together to work towards a common goal. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and people management skills as well as being solution focussed. The individual should possess a good knowledge of how to effectively design programmes for people living in lower socio-economic communities using sport to contribute to wider social outcomes. Experience of having already worked in the South Central Wales region is also desirable.

We are offering a contract equivalent to 2 days a week depending on availability and suitability until March 31st, 2021 with potential scope to extend, subject to funding. This contract proposes a flexible approach and should fit into the applicant’s other commitments. Doorstep Sport Advisors will be paid £150 per day exclusive of expenses.
