StreetGames is a fast-moving and innovative national charity with a sector-leading reputation for delivering sport and physical activity on the doorstep of underserved communities.

Our aim is to help young people and communities enjoy lives that are healthier, safer and more successful through sport and physical activity.

To do that, we work with community organisations to engage young people from lower socio-economic groups through sport and physical activity at the right time, in the right place, at the right price, in the right style and with the right people.

Who are we looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic individual with a passion for developing the knowledge and skills of young people. The role of Regional Training Lead (Fieldworker) will contribute to the development and delivery of a range of the StreetGames Training Academy’s accredited & non-accredited workshops and qualifications and be expected to oversee and develop a regional team of contracted tutors and the holistic StreetGames approach to developing learners beyond the workshop setting.  The post holder will be required to deliver in a range of settings within disadvantaged communities, and to learners with a range of previous educational experiences. When tutoring, they will tailor delivery to the individual needs of each group of learners, using their knowledge of teaching, coaching & learning styles to create an environment which removes potential barriers to learning.

The post holder will be supported by and work closely with the Area Director, to create regional training plans, which ensure that the needs of Locally Trusted Organisations (LTOs) are met through a needs-led dynamic training and development plan. As a key member of the training team they will also work closely with the Head of Workforce Development, National Training Lead and other Regional Training Leads to test, develop and evaluate new training products to meet the emerging needs of doorstep sport providers.

They will adopt a ‘learning approach’ and regularly gather, and share, learning and good practise for engaging, supporting and developing the sporting and personal skills of young people in disadvantaged areas with LTOs from across the region. The post holder will require a blend of interpersonal skills, youth work and sport specific knowledge.

The post holder will be required to engage and support with LTOs, through a range of approaches, including virtual and in-person training workshops, webinars and other network engagement events.

Candidates should have experience of working in sport, youth, or community development. Candidates must hold a recognised teaching qualification or Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent and should have experience of working with underserved communities and be able to successfully develop partnerships across a range of organisations for a common purpose.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and people management skills as well as being solution focussed. You will have excellent networking and relationship building skills with the ability to apply these to a range of local, regional organisations.
